Sunday 4th August - walk **** – Newbourne Springs circuit including a picnic – cloudy.

Funny day weather wise, mainly cloudy with a few spots of rain, no plans for today so had a nice morning in the morning, Mag out with the hedge trimmer and me doing my exercises before I packed a picnic again, yummy egg sandwiches, our favourite:) A friend had recently posted a field of sunflowers in Newbourne so we decided to drive over to look for them before going to Newbourne Springs for a walk! On reaching Newbourne we took the left past the church past Kattys plants and returned on the Springs Lane which is where we found the sunflowers and stopped to take a few pics:) We reached the nature reserve at 1.30 to start our walk across the wild flower meadow and into the trees by the crystal clear spring. We follow the wooden walkway along the stream before turning right up to the heath area where the path was very overgrown with some dodgy nettles with bracken sprouting everywhere. We sit in our spot for lunch with lovely views over rolling Suffolk countryside before moving back to the main path. Down the steps we followed the path past the reed field as Mag collects a large piece of bark for the garden. We come out by the pond by the Newbourne Fox where the hanging baskets are stunning, past the garden with the lovely greenhouse and back to the van. Then home for a cuppa and I was surprised the the lovely Chris Page had used my pic on his weather forecast – top day:)
